Tchaikovsky's Sleeping Beauty is the most ambitious of his three ballet scores opening with an evocation of opposing magical forces, the ferocious wicked fairy Carabosse and the benign Lilac fairy. The flowing Waltz and haunting Rose Adagio are just two of its many jewels.
André Previn conducts the London Symphonic Orchestra in this recording of the complete ballet.
